Just recently, the Daniella Whine singer, Patoranking took to his Instagram to reveal that he is the first African artiste invited to perform at the biggest reggae festival in the world-the Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica which ended, July 22. Celebrating the news on his Instagram, the God Over Everything crooner said his children would one day learn about his legacies because he sure has put in his best in marking his space in the reggae world. Coming to fame was quite difficult for the Ebonyi State singer who grew up in the slums of Ilaje, Ebute Metta, a Lagos suburb, in the one bedroom apartment he shared with his four siblings. In February 2015, the youthful singer shared his story of humble beginnings, how he sold rat poison on Lagos traffic and became a bricklayer, all just to raise money to help his family. Fully grown, Patoranking traveled to Ghana and there, he found music. In 2014, he won the Headies Award as the Next Rated Star. Today, the dancehall singer is one of Africa’s renowned artistes. “I may never had come this far if I don’t have doubting Thomas dem/haters but please don’t stop doubting or hating I really need more of that, I’m already in 2018,” he wrote on his page.
